What is Konjac?
“Amorphophallus Konjac” the KONJAC POTATO is a perennial plant, native to Asia also known as Konyakku.
Konnyaku or Konjac potatoes are cultivated for food in Japan & Korea, but wild forms grow naturally in many parts
of China, Korea & Japan. Frequently growing wild at very high altitude, thus being very pure and polutant free.
The Japanese have been eating Konjac for over 1500 years. It was originally introduced to Japan as a medicine in the
sixth century as it was recognized for its health giving properties. It is used frequently as a thickening agent in food
and jelly and is most

The plant grows naturally in warm subtropical and tropical Asian countries, such as Japan, China and Indonesia. Amorphophallus konjac (konjac) is a remarkable plant that has been used in these countries for thousands of years as a food source and as a traditional medicine, renowned for its many health benefits.

Wet forms of Konjac sponges can often contain this chemical which is a known carcinogen and neurotoxin to prevent mould growth in the packet. They often do not list this ingredient in the ingredient list.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Submerge the sponge in hot water for 2-3 minutes until it has become completely soft and has expanded
to double its size.
Squeeze out the water from the sponge and use it to gently massage the face or body in small circular
movements for approximately 30 seconds to 1 minute, until you feel sufficiently clean
Can be used with or without a cleanser or soap of your choice.
Can be used to wipe off make up from eyes as well as face.
After use, rinse the sponge and hang it by the cotton string attached, in a cool dry place until next use.
HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR SPONGE:
After use, always rinse your sponge out well, and allow to air dry by hanging it by its cotton string.
Avoid wringing the sponge out as this may damage sponge. Rather squeeze it gently till water no longer
drains from it.
When dried it will shrink and harden, this is perfectly natural. When you are ready to use it again simply
wet the sponge again till it absorbs water and rehydrates.
Never use the sponge when dry.
The better you care for your sponge, the longer it will last. As a guideline the sponge should last 2 to 3
months if well looked after.
Please do not leave the sponge in the shower or in a pool of water.
If you would like to disinfect your sponge, feel free to submerge it in boiling hot water for 2-3 minutes.
Once or twice a week should do the trick.
Once your sponge begins to break down you can replace it.
Because the sponge is made of 100% natural vegetable fibre and is fully biodegradable your old sponge
can be safely composted in your garden.
Never leave a child unattended with a sponge as they can be a choking risk.
These sponges are not to be eaten.
